「愛的喜悅」和《芭比的盛宴》

2016年4月8日教宗方濟發表宗座《勸諭》中「愛的喜悅」引用1987年奧斯卡最佳外語片《芭比的盛宴》結尾的話來說明愛的喜悅是為他人奉獻：「最大的喜悅是分享…..」

這部電影是數十年來12部最感動我的佳片之一。我看過至少四次。每次電影結束時都深受感動，但不知為何。看了教宗引用的那話，恍然了悟。

l  Pope Francis on Friday published his long awaited Amoris Laetitia, quoting Martin Luther King, Jorge Luis Borges and even the 1987 Danish cult film Babette's Feast to make his case for a more merciful and loving Church.

 Pope Francis on April 8, 2016 published his long awaited Amoris Laetitia, quoting, among others, the 1987 Oscar best foreign film winner “Babette's Feast” to make his case for a more merciful and loving Church：

 “The most intense joys in life arise when we are able to elicit joy in others, as a foretaste of heaven,” he writes. “We can think of the lovely scene in the film ‘Babette’s Feast,’ when the generous cook receives a grateful hug and praise: ‘Ah, how you will delight the angels!’”

 I saw that film at least four times when first released. Every time, towards the end, I was deeply moved, yet not knowing why. After reading what Pope Francis’s quote, it has become clear. It was the love that transcends oneself and d that denies one’s ego that is the most beautiful.
